Discreet and Kodak Announce Collaboration in Digital Film Production
By Elina Shatkin, September 25, 2003

Discreet, a division of Autodesk, Inc., announced that it is collaborating with Eastman Kodak Company to bring Kodak's expertise in film color science and color management to emerging digital intermediate and film workflow solutions
. Discreet will provide technology demonstrations of Kodak's advanced monitor calibration and film look preview system running on its lustre digital color grading system at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (booth 7.421) from September 12-16, 2003.

One of the toughest challenges facing film laboratories and post-production companies is the accurate manipulation of film scans when using digital systems for such tasks as conforming, color grading, retouching and restoration, compositing or visual effects. Kodak's advanced monitor calibration and film look preview system solves this problem by providing a calibrated digital environment that accurately simulates a projected theatrical print.
