IN DEMAND Taps Comcast Media Center for Launch of Linear HD Channel Offering

The Comcast Media Center (CMC) has signed its second HD network origination agreement. iN DEMAND has agreed to have the CMC manage the launch of its linear, 24/7 HD channel offering, which is slated to debut on HD tiers this September
. Terms of the agreement with iN DEMAND were not disclosed

The CMC has also managed the delivery of a number of HD events, including the NBA All Star’s Game, which was delivered to iN DEMAND’s NBA League Pass customers, and the HD feed of this year’s Master’s Tournament, which the CMC managed for USA Networks.

HDTV programming originating from the Comcast Media Center for INHD, will feature Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and transmit video content in the 1080i format. The CMC additionally provides HD studio production and postproduction services to content creators and encodes hundreds of hours of content every week for its network and spot programming origination clients, including all types of content from internet streaming rates up to 50Mbps broadcast HD.
