Fast Forward Video to display DVRs at InfoComm
By Staff, September 30, 2003

Fast Forward Video will display its latest products at InfoComm 03 (booth #308), June 3 to 5, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Recon™

The company's Recon is an ultracompact digital video recorder (DVR) board aimed at OEM applications in the security/surveillance markets among others. Based on the technology of the company's award-winning OMEGA Deck™ DVR and boasting resolution greater than 550 lines at 4:1 compression, the tiny Recon provides all the electronics required for a broadcast-quality DVR on a board measuring just 3"x3.9" (76 mm x 100 mm) and can be combined with notebook hard drives or solid state memory to provide the most compact and most rugged DVR solution available.

In addition to its other features, the Recon is now available and qualified for use with the compact Toshiba 1.8" 5GB PCMCIA ejectable hard drive with ATA interface. This latest capability for the Recon allows for production of broadcast-quality video in field-portable applications that would otherwise have to be accomplished with bulkier or less capable recording alternatives.

The highly acclaimed Recon will now also allow users to view, store and manipulate Recon-generated video on standard computer systems by retrieving data directly from the hard drive.

Presentation DVR™

Visitors to the company's booth at InfoComm this year will be able to catch a demonstration of the company's Presentation DVR

. The Presentation DVR is the ideal cost-effective, stand-alone replacement for standard analog tape decks and CRV laser disc players — with all the advantages of clean digital video and nonlinear random access.

The DVR's sleek front panel features the same controls, inputs and outputs familiar to tape deck operators, as well as a convenient LCD touchscreen menu that controls compression levels, recording options and playback looping.

OMEGA Deck

FFV's OMEGA Deck is a high-performance, low-cost DVR. The OMEGA Deck delivers all of the advantages of digital video and nonlinear random access with the same ease of use as today's analog tape decks. The deck's new chase-lock feature allows synchronized playback from multiple OMEGA Decks.
