RCI will unveil its new media presentation drawer, the MPD-2, at this year’s InfoComm 2003 in Orlando, Fla.
The MPD-2 is a media interface that allows for interconnection between PCs and display devices at conference and boardroom tables without the need to penetrate the table from the top.
Designed as an easy-to-install gliding drawer, the MPD-2 attaches with standard wood screws to the underside of almost any conference-type table
. Data and electrical connections are made with common “thru”-type connectors, so the unit can be mounted and ready to use in less than 10 minutes, which could save hundreds in labor expenses.
The MPD-2 provides VGA, data (CAT-5), phone and audio, as well as A/C connections for two separate users. Overall dimensions of the unit are 16.5" D x 7.5” W x 2.5” H. The connector panel measures 6.25”x4.9”, usable area is 6.25”x4.0”. The unit weighs in at just 7 lbs.
