A special Manufacturers Industry Forum will take place Monday, June 2, at 5 p.m., on the eve of the opening of the InfoComm show floor. Industry leaders from five of the most prominent equipment manufacturers will share their unique perspective on the industry, and address the "state of the industry." George Feldstein, Crestron president and CEO; Andrew Edwards, Extron president; Ron Gillies, NEC senior vice president for the Visual Systems Division; Jay Dellostretto, vice president, Sony, Display Systems Division, Business Solutions & Systems Company; and Mathias von Heydekampf, Telex president, Pro-Audio Group Worldwide will preside. This first ever Manufacturers Industry Forum, to be moderated by David Keene, executive editor of Systems Contractor News and Rental & Staging Systems magazines, will offer InfoComm attendees insight about current industry issues and initiatives
. The AV industry leaders will talk about trends they are seeing for 2003 and beyond, including the effect of the consolidation of service providers on the industry; the next revolution in product design; what changes manufacturers are seeing as a result of AV and IT convergence; and the effect of the overall economy and the possibility of product price deflation, a roll-back of value-added services, or reduced warranties .
The Manufacturers Industry Forum will lead into the Opening Welcome Reception , Monday at 6:30 p.m. At the Opening Reception, the ICIA Distinguished Achievement Award will be awarded by ICIA Executive Director Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D, to an individual to be announced at the ceremony.
