Union Editorial opened its doors, offering creative editorial to the television advertising community. Company co-founders are Michael Raimondi, Werner Mayes, and Ron Moler, withRaimondi also acting as executive producer, and Megan Dahlman as Producer.
Upon launch, Union is operating out of interim offices in Santa Monica, with construction underway on a state-of-the-art 10,000-square foot space in an architecturally significant West Los Angeles building; the company plans on moving into its permanent home at 12200 Olympic Blvd. before summer. The company roster includes editors Nico Alba, Einar, Jay Friedkin and Ira Klien; veteran editor Rye Dahlman is also completing projects under the Union banner.
Company founders Werner Mayes and Michael Raimondi worked together for several years at Santa Monica-based editorial facility Harley's House, as did much of the team that has joined Union
. No expense is being spared on the new home of Union currently underway. The space will be equipped with five uniquely designed bays, outfitted with Mac OSX-based Avid Adrenaline systems running on an Avid Unity network. Adrenaline is Avid's latest version of Media Composer, replacing the Meridian systems in use today. Union will be the first editorial company in Los Angeles to operate the new equipment. Union will also run Softimage DS/HD system operated by artist Todd Iorio to provide on-the-fly on-line and effects services as well as an HD3 Pro Tools Mix studio driven by Josh Eichenbaum to enable clients to finish jobs at Union.
