Cirrus Logic Incorporates Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2 into Embedded Processors

Cirrus Logic Inc. (announced that its ARM7- and ARM9-based processors will include support for Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows CE .NET version 4.2, a real-time operating system used to build the next generation of smart mobile and small end-user devices.

Cirrus ARM products are highly integrated system-on-chip processors that leverage the faster performance of Windows CE .NET 4.2 to form an ideal chip solution for a broad range of consumer devices

. Cirrus customers will be able to leverage the breadth of peripheral interfaces in Cirrus ARM products in tandem with the expanded toolset in Windows CE .NET 4.2 to develop the latest in consumer audio and industrial networked devices.

Cirrus' ARM7- and ARM9-based processors are designed to enable high-performance, low-power general-purpose processing solutions for a wide range of consumer devices, such as portable and set-top digital audio devices, car audio jukebox systems and industrial applications.
