PESA Clikcontrol Software Extends Reach of PESA Routing System Controllers Worldwide
By Elina Shatkin, March 3, 2004

PESA Switching Systems, Inc., a provider of analog and digital video and audio equipment, announced the launch of PESA Clikcontrol network router control software. Designed to help broadcasters manage networked routing switcher distribution, Clikcontrol operates over Ethernet, leveraging TCP/IP networks and a familiar Microsoft Windows browser interface to provide direct control of PESA's high-performance routing system controllers from anywhere in the world.

PESA's Clikcontrol server communicates directly with the 3500PRO or Ocelot control system via RS-232, extending the reach of the PESA control system. In addition to password-protected user profiles, Clikcontrol offers customizable features including local and remote salvos, hot takes for sources and destinations, and individual lock/unlock

. A simple grid-based concept allows users to select single- or multiple-destination blocks to be switched concurrently. The system may be expanded incrementally in blocks of 10, 25, 50, or 100 users as the user network grows.

The Clikcontrol server is built on a Microsoft Windows platform and can be installed on any PC that runs a Microsoft 2000 or XP Pro operating system. The Clikcontrol software resides on a customer-provided network server using either a Microsoft IIS HTTP server or an Apache server running on an Ethernet TCP/IP network. It is compatible with the full line of PESA routers and may be used to control crosspoint sizes from 8x2 up to 1024x1024 and beyond.

The PESA Clikcontrol network router control software will be on display along with other PESA products at the NAB2004 convention, April 19-22 in Las Vegas.
