Sony Pictures Imageworks Chooses Maxons CINEMA 4D for Matte Painting Pipeline
By Elina Shatkin, March 8, 2004

Sony Pictures Imageworks, a visual effects and character animation company, has chosen CINEMA 4D as a component for integration into its matte painting production pipeline. The software, produced by MAXON, developer of professional 3D solutions, is used for modeling, animation and rendering in the computer animation environment.

Imageworks chose MAXON's software after testing CINEMA 4D in the production environment and recognizing the benefits of its creative workflow, superior toolset, and unprecedented stability

. Another advantage is the seamless integration with other industry leading software such as Adobe After Effects and MAXON's 3D painting program BodyPaint 3D, also in use at Sony Pictures Imageworks.

Sony Pictures Imageworks Inc., is an Academy Award-winning, state-of-the-art visual effects and character animation company dedicated to the art and artistry of digital production and character creation. The company has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science with nominations for its work on "Spider-Man," "Hollow Man," "Stuart Little" and "Starship Troopers" and was awarded an Oscar for the CG animated film "The ChubbChubbs."
