Fletcher Chicago Adds Fujinon E-Series HDTV Lenses to Rental Stock
By Elina Shatkin, March 29, 2004

To meet the demand of the high-end 24p digital cinematography market, Fletcher Chicago, a premier 24P HD rental and sales facility, selected the Fujinon 6-30mm (HAe5x6)‘E Series’ HD Cine Style zoom lens for their rental department.

The 6-30mm lens features a large barrel diameter with lots of “real estate,” providing ample distance between index marks for accurate focus pulling. A constant T1.8 aperture allows maximum light transmittance to the camera.
This fast speed provides cinematographers with the ability to creatively compose shots with shallow depth of field, closer to what is experienced with 35mm film production

. A focus barrel rotation of 280 degrees allows precise follow focus.

Fletcher Chicago also owns and rents two sets of Fujinon HD Cine Style prime lenses, and a full complement of HD Compact “C” Series zoom lenses and HD ENG zoom lenses.

The HAe5x6 features optical and mechanical design specifically tailored for digital cinema, with film-style indexing, and smooth operation. These considerations make Fujinon Cine Style lenses a favorite among high-end HD cinematographers and directors. Well marked zoom, focus and iris markings are clearly visible from both sides of the lens, and gear placement is consistent between all four E Series zooms. The E lenses are also compatible with industry-standard matte boxes and popular film-style controls. Minimal focus breathing, flat T stop performance and distortion-free optics set a new standard for digital imaging.
