Hitachi Denshi America will introduce three new cameras during NAB 2004. Among Hitachi Denshi America's new camera announcements: a low-cost HD camera, the SK-31B, that offers both native 720p and 1080i outputs; the
HV-D15AS standard definition camera that features a high-density digital processor which provides clean SDI signal output without analog to digital converters; and the Z-2500, a high-performance, low-cost standard-definition DSP production camera.
Hitachi will be exhibiting at the NAB convention in booth #C5623 in the main hall.
Hitachi takes high-definition imaging one step further by offering both native 720p and 1080i outputs within the SK-31B, eliminating the need for video signal manipulation through costly third party converters to achieve the desired format. Furthermore, the SK-31B can optionally incorporate a Hitachi up/down conversion module for switching between standard and high-definition formats on the fly.
The HV-D15AS offers SDI video direct from the camera, addressing recent customer requests for a true broadcast-quality digital video output that eliminates the needs for costly analog-to-digital converters
. The HV-D15AS features extremely low signal-to-noise ratio, with automatic exposure range, low power consumption, and ground-breaking resolution and color reproduction due to its advanced Hitachi processor.
Hitachi will also introduce the Z-2500, a low-cost, standard-definition DSP production camera that replaces the popular Z-2010A. Well suited for educational, institutional and television broadcast situations, the Z-2500 is a lighter, higher-performance version of its predecessor. The increased performance stems from a new Hitachi-engineered high-density digital processor that streamlines the Z-2500’s electronics and provides higher resolution and better picture quality while retaining its low price point. The Z-2500 is ideal for schools, colleges, corporate institutions and smaller television stations that demand high quality but are faced with budgetary restrictions. Local cable television stations with news departments will find the camera ideal for field applications, such as live sports or other news events. A new multicore cable CCU (camera control unit), the RU-Z25, allows the camera to be used with more than 1000 feet of cable. As part of Hitachi’s range of Z-series cameras, the Z-2500’s chassis is the same as the existing Z-3000/Z-4000 models and is compatible with most Z-series accessories for both field or studio use. The camera will be displayed in its studio configuration at the Hitachi NAB 2004 exhibit.
