MPAA Settles Lawsuit with Indie Producers in Hush-Hush Deal

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and a group of independent producers and filmmakers have settled their outstanding litigation over the right to distribute DVD screener movies to awards voting societies, with both sides agreeing not to discuss settlement terms, reports IndieWire.com
. The MPAA declared a ban on screeners last year that was later overturned by a federal court's injunction; the two sides announced yesterday that they have settled the matter instead of going forward with a full trial.
