NYFCPUG to Meet on Thursday, April 29, 2004

The New York City Final Cut Pro Users Group will meet on Thursday, April 29 at the Apple Store, 103 Prince Street (between Mercer & Greene Sts, SoHO) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Presenters

• Josh Apter & Estelle McGechie • Manhattan Edit Workshop
Josh Apter and Estelle McGechie, together with a team of professional editors and certified instructors, offer classes at Manhattan Edit Workshop - an Apple Authorized training center. We focus on the two leading industry tools - Final Cut Pro and AVID. Individual attention and a customized curriculum create a unique learning environment and our faculty to student ratio is never larger than 1:4. Manhattan Edit Workshop offers 4-week, 1-week and weekend classes taught by working editors certified in Final Cut Pro and Avid with 10+ years of industry experience.

• Yan Shvalb • VizualFX
Yan Shvalb is an Apple regular, training beginner through advanced 3D animation and DVD Studio Pro users in his facility located on 14th Street and 8th Avenue

. I can't tell you more than that, but needless to say, I look forward to introducing Yan, Estelle & Josh to the community later this month. Together, Mews and VizualFX offer instruction and tutoring in FCP & Avid, DVDStudio Pro, AfterEffects, Maya and Shake.

• Steven Ovenden • Affinity Films
Will do his NAB Schwag roundup. Members with kids might be peaked by his findings amongst the technologically inclined. Everyone knows Steven, long time member and FCP martyr since version one, Steven has become one of the most knowledgeable FCP users in town. At the meeting, he's going to share a tip from the bible: "FCP on the Spot"
