Twist has HD Vision for Branded Entertainment Media
By Elina Shatkin, June 18, 2004

National production company Twist and its Branded Content division has entered into a partnership with the Science Museum of Minnesota to develop their current 20-minute, 2D, High-Definition film "Future Frontiers: MARS" into a 3D/HD film.

Twist, which maintains a directorial roster for its commercial division, capitalized on its production expertise when it made a foray into branded entertainment last year. The current high-definition, 23-minute program, "Future Frontiers: MARS" celebrates the Mars Exploration Rovers (MER) Mission and reveals the daily dramas, mind boggling physics, and compelling science behind the 820 million dollar NASA project. The 20-minute 3D film will feature the most compelling 3-D assets coming from NASA and related research centers from around the world. Viewers will experience Mars as they fly over landscapes, walk across rocky terrain and drill down into Martian rocks. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in Fall 2004 with the premiere at the Science Museum of Minnesota on October 1, 2004.

Twist is also in discussion with HD hardware and software developers to lease low-cost servers to museums pre-loaded with HD content

. This economic-minded, "Film-in-a-Box" approach provides museums that are not HD theater-ready the opportunity to offer the high-impact appeal of HD programming to their audiences.

The current 2D/HD "Future Frontiers: MARS" has also been accepted into the prestigious AFI/Discovery Channel Documentary Festival taking place June 15-20 in Washington DC; and the world tour of HDFest 2004, a premier High Definition documentary worldwide tour event with screenings in the Los Angeles Sony Theater, New York, London, Finland, Miami and Sydney, Australia throughout 2004. Since its debut in early 2004, the 2D/HD film "Future Frontiers: MARS" has been leased by science centers around the world, and is currently being screened at museums in Tokyo, South Africa, New Zealand, the U.S. and Canada.

In addition, Twist Branded Content is in talks with national museum partners to create a sequel to the 2D/HD film, "Future Frontiers: MARS," taking an in-depth look at the science behind the MER Mission. Twist is currently underway to secure sponsorship for the film and is in talks to secure broadcast distribution for a one-hour documentary.
