JVC Professional Products Company Appoints Kirk Hirota as President & CEO
By Elina Shatkin, July 6, 2004

JVC Professional Products Company announced the appointment of Kirk Hirota as president and CEO. As President, Hirota will continue to move the company's video creation, projection and surveillance products into new and expanding markets and further capitalize on new technological breakthroughs while overseeing all operational aspects of JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY. Hirota replaces the retiring Mike Yoshida, who will be returning to Japan after serving as President from 2001-2004.

Though Hirota is a newcomer to JVC, he has more than twenty years experience with Victor Company of Japan, JVC's parent company, and a proven track record and leadership abilities that will enable him to steer JVC into new territories. Hirota most recently designed the united strategies for the Victor Company of Japan's multiple professional business operations

. A key element of his strategy is to continue fostering industry-wide partnerships that help spur affordable turnkey solutions, as evidenced at NAB 2004 with the announcement of more than 20 non-linear editing (NLE) companies supporting the JVC JY-HD10U handheld HD camera.

Hirota began his career as a regional sales manager for consumer products at the Victor Company. He later took on the position as the manager of business development for the Iwai Factory Overseas Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), which manufactured computer display units for major PC manufacturers. For six years, Hirota was the product-planning manager for the Systems Integration Division Product Planning, where he played an integral role in the market penetration of IP telecom systems and digital color printers. Most recently, he spent four years at the Hachioji Factory Overseas Business for CCTV/Security, where he helped to define and expand the market for video surveillance operations.
