Miranda Demos Kaleido Multi-image Display Processors
By Elina Shatkin, September 10, 2004

Miranda Technologies’ Kaleido multi-image display processors can be used with production switchers to achieve significant improvements in workflow. An integration of Kaleido multi-image display processors and the Ross Synergy production switcher presents switcher-configuration and event-timing information on the monitoring display, so that operators do not have to keep looking down at the panel to check its setup. Operators can change the layout of a monitoring display directly from the switcher to suit different productions or operators. Tally data from the switcher also helps to simplify production monitoring.

These improvements in production monitoring have been stimulated by recent advances in display technology that allow multi-image display processors to meet the exacting quality standards of production work.

Miranda's family of multi-image display processors includes the Kaleido-K2 32-input processor, the affordable Kaleido-Alto 10-input processor and the Tango quad-split

. The Kaleido-K2 processor features a robust chassis and multiformat operation with HD-SDI, SDI, composite, S-video, RGB progressive and streaming video. The video can be displayed with embedded, AES and analog audio as well as with multiple clocks, source IDs and overlays of subtitling and closed captioning. A dual-head output option allows two displays to be used with a processor, with the signals monitored across both displays for an economical multi-display operation.

Miranda's Kaleido-Alto processor features the same high-quality image-display technology as the Kaleido-K2 in a more compact 1-RU chassis. The processor can display SDI and analog video signals along with embedded, AES and analog audio, plus multiple clocks and source IDs.
