By Crispin MacIntosh, November 17, 2004

DisplayLA 2004 will present a digital screening of Martin Scorsese's "The Aviator" on December 16. Register now to attend this highly-anticipated digital screening.

There's only one month left before DisplayLA 2004 unfolds in Hollywood's legendary Pacific Theater. It's a full day of panels and discussions with leading film and digital cinematographers, postproduction and visual effects artists, display professionals -- all capped by the evening's preview screening of what many in the industry are calling Martin Scorsese's masterpiece. The Miramax/Warner Bros. film is the story of Howard Hughes and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, Gwen Stafani, Alan Alda and Alec Baldwin.

DisplayLA 2004 will offer unlimited networking with Hollywood's creative and technical leaders, and learning opportunities at the high-level sessions, which will include:
Digital Image Acquisition, moderated by Digital Cinema Society executive Jim Mathers.
Cinematography and Digital Intermediates, moderated by cinematography writer Bob Fisher.
Post-production in the New Era, moderated by Loren Nielsen, Principal and Co-Founder, Entertainment Technology Consultants.

Plus, Charles Swartz, Executive Director of USC's Entertainment Technology Center, will moderate a post-screening panel with the artists who managed postproduction and created visual effects for "The Aviator."

Now in its second year, DisplayLA is organized by CMP Information, owner of the Creative Planet family of websites and publisher of magazines like Digital Cinema, Videography and Digital TV.
