For "The Girl From Monday," Director Hal Hartley's newest digital feature, Swiss Effects collaborated with Hartley and his long-time Editor Steve Hamilton to explore the aesthetic possibilities of using a small consumer digital video camera. The artistic concerns of playing with movement and speed changes were explored by doing pre-production testing to address DV camera's performance to create the desired look.
According to Hamilton, Swiss Effects' Schick visited he and Hartley in New York to discuss the process ahead of time, and even offered to return to help supervise the transfer
. Hamilton adds: "It's clear when working with Swiss Effects that you're working with a boutique that pays tremendous attention to detail and because you're dealing directly with the principal, every project is shepherded through with the same sort of care you'd give your own project. When Hal and I looked at our first answer print, we were blown away! "
