Victory Studios has become the first company in Seattle to add the industry’s newest model of High Definition video camera -- the Sony HDV camera (Model# HVR-Z1U) -- to its rental inventory. The HVR-Z1U is the professional version of this new line of Sony camera products, and offers exciting flexibility in recording media, frame rate, aspect ratio and image resolution, as well as many professional features.
For the first time, it is possible to record High Definition video onto a standard mini-DV videotape
. In addition, the camera can operate in standard definition where the user has a choice between 4:3 image aspect ratio or the widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio.
And the Sony HDV camera offers a variety of frame rate options including 60i and 50i in both High Definition (1080i) and Standard Definition (NTSC/PAL). Also included are Sony's "Cineframe 30" and "Cineframe 24" processing which can create a film-like look.
Among the professional features of the new camera are dual XLR audio inputs, control of SMPTE Time Code features, dynamic shutter speed controls and PAL standard recording capabilities.
