IMAGICA CORP. introduced the latest model of its IMAGER XE series of digital film scanners: Imager XE Advanced Plus Digital Scanner, which scans 35mm motion picture film to 4K/2K (4096/2048 x 3112/1556 pixels), 10bit/color DPX digital data files for Digital Mastering, Digital Archive and Digital Intermediate applications.
The Imager XE Advanced Plus scans 35mm motion picture film at the speed of 2.5 seconds per frame for 4K and 1.3 second per frame for 2K. This new feature is available as an upgrade for the current Imager XE Advanced users. 35mm 3perf./8perf
. and 16mm/Super 16mm are also available as options.
Additionally, a liquid gate is now available as an option, which will enable the elimination of the effects of film scratches and dust. This feature will reduce the cost of the dust and scratch removal process of mastering old "classic" films, which have been in high demand from digital archive facilities that have the capability of Perchloroethylene solutions for liquid gate.
Imagica's answers to the expanding demand of Digital Intermediate are featured during NAB 2005 at #SL4234, which include the newly designed Imager HSX High Speed Scanner & Imager HSR High Speed Recorder, cinecure/cineflip dust busting tool set and Galette Color Management Systems/ChyBox and Color Mine.
