Scopus Changes Name To Reflect Video Networks Focus
By Staff, September 2, 2005

Scopus Network Technologies announced that it has officially changing its name to Scopus Video Networks. The name change embodies and highlights Scopus' vision as a leading provider of digital video networking products that deliver video over broadcast and broadband, IP-based networks.

"With the introduction of new bandwidth-intensive services, such as HDTV, personalized content and mobile video, we expect video networks will become increasingly complex and bandwidth constrained," commented Ovadia Cohen, Scopus VP Marketing and co-founder.

"Scopus strategy is to extend its' technology leadership while maintaining focus on digital video networking," said Scopus CEO, David Mahlab

. "Our expertise and intellectual property in broadcast-quality video compression, decoding, processing and network management are our critical differentiators. Furthermore, we intend to focus on digital video networking, which we view to be our core competency," added Mahlab.
