Doordarshan Automates Graphics Production and Playout With VertigoXmedia
By Staff, December 22, 2005

VertigoXmedia announced that Doordarshan, India's national television service, has purchased the Xmedia Suite for graphics automation and a VertigoXG system to play out graphics for its programming, broadcast throughout India and reaching nearly 90 percent of the country's residents.

With Vertigo's Xmedia Suite, Doordarshan will have access to a robust suite of tools for automatically creating, managing, and playing out real-time, dynamic broadcast graphics. The network's news staff will be able to create data-driven, full-screen graphics from a pre-built template library accessed directly from AP ENPS. The Xmedia system monitors the live data source and automatically generates up-to-date graphics

. From its headquarters in New Delhi, Doordarshan will be able to maintain centralized asset management within the Xmedia system so that all of the network's digital assets can be easily managed and integrated with real-time data feeds from virtually any source.

The VertigoXG system is a full-featured SD/HD graphics system that provides unsurpassed graphics rendering and playback performance. In the Doordarshan facility, the VertigoXG system will be used to play out a ticker and for other channel-branding functions. Used in conjunction with other products in the Xmedia Suite, the VertigoXG provides both master control and production graphics as well as video playout capabilities for a wide range of advanced real-time broadcast applications.
