Doug Krainman Named Group Publisher of CMP Entertainment Medias Video Division

CMP Entertainment Media, Inc. has announced that effective immediately Doug Krainman is Group Publisher for the company’s Video Division, which includes such titles as Videography, DV, Government Video, Television Broadcast and Digital Cinematography. In addition to these print properties, Krainman will also oversee the popular Creative Planet Community web sites.

Krainman began his career with CMP Entertainment Media in 1994 and for the last seven years, he has been head of finance for the company, where he has played an integral role in the budgeting and forecasting of all the company’s key properties, including Videography, DV and Guitar Player.

“Doug’s financial experience and familiarity with these publications and their respective staffs make him the best candidate for this job,” states Tony Keefe, President, CMP Entertainment Media. “Doug has tremendous commercial skill and judgment that adds greatly to his financial prowess

. I have no doubt that the Video Division will benefit greatly from having him at the helm.”

Prior to joining CMP Entertainment Media, Krainman worked as an accounting manager for a San Francisco-based record label. Krainman studied music at California State University Northridge and worked as a professional musician for a number of years.

In addition to his Group Publisher, Video Division duties, Krainman remains Vice President and Business Manager for CMP Entertainment Media, Inc.

CMP Entertainment Media produces magazines, books, Web sites, trade shows and events for musicians and the professional audio, video, and installation industries, including Pro Sound News, Guitar Player, Surround Professional, Bass Player, Medialine, Systems Contractor News, Keyboard, EQ, Residential Systems, Rental & Staging Systems, Videography, DV, Government Video, Television
Broadcast, Digital Cinematography, Sports TV Production, Entertainment Media Expo (co-produced with IRMA), Government Video Technology Expo and Surround 2005.
