Wexler Buys 12 Panasonic AJ-HDX900 2/3" DVCPRO HD Camcorders

Wexler (Burbank, CA), a broadcast equipment supplier to the Hollywood production and post-production community, has purchased 12 of the new AJ-HDX900 2/3" DVCPRO HD camcorders. Wexler will be offering the AJ-HDX900s for rental to its clients working in scripted and non-scripted television production, as well as in documentary, independent cinematography, and corporate video production.

The HDX900, Ordesky added, is compatible with Panasonic's variable frame rate AJ-HDC27 VariCam HD Cinema camera, and he expects both cameras to be rented together for television assignments.

The well-balanced, high-performance AJ-HDX900 provides 4:2:2 sampling and intra-frame recording at 100Mbps in 11 high definition formats

. A perfect solution for globetrotting video professionals, the camera supports 1080 59.94i/50i/29.97p/25p/23.98p/23.98pA and 720 59.94p/50p/29.97p/25p/ 23.98p (60Hz and 50Hz production) for high-end productions including television programs, music videos, stock footage, corporate video, documentaries and much more. The AJ-HDX900 features a native 16:9, 2/3" HD, 1-million pixel 3-CCD system that assures stunning images and produces an outstanding sensitivity of F10 (at 2000 lux) and exceptional low-light shooting down to 0.032 lux (at+62 dB gain).

It is compatible with a wide range of 2/3" lenses and accessories. The AJ-HDX900 offers an IEEE 1394 digital output that lowers the cost of HD production by allowing video professionals to connect directly with non-linear editing systems and VTRs, such as the AJ-HD1200A or AJ-HD1400, and record while simultaneously making a backup copy on the external device.
