Thomson has announced a new collaborative development effort with Adobe Systems, Inc., and Matrox Video Products Group. The alliance will offer users interoperability between the Grass Valley Infinity digital media camcorders, digital media recorders, and REV PRO removable media and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 software optimized with Matrox's Axio real-time nonlinear editing accelerator board.
Adobe Systems and Matrox are the latest charter members of the Grass Valley Open Alliance Partner (OAP) initiative, a group of manufacturers and suppliers of nonlinear editing systems and products that support newsgathering and field production
. Current members include Avid Technology, Hewlett-Packard, CineForm, MediaConcept, MOG Solutions, and Telestream. By participating in the OAP initiative, Adobe and Matrox have committed to working with Grass Valley to create an integrated workflow between the Infinity Series product line and the Matrox Axio real-time engine that lets users of the Adobe Production Studio software suite maximize operational performance.
The Matrox Axio accelerator board will enable Adobe Premiere Pro users to natively read files captured with the Grass Valley Infinity camcorder and played back on an Infinity Digital Media Player. This allows editors to work with standard- and high-definition files natively on their editing timeline.
