Current TV Extends Seeds Of Tolerance Contest Deadline

Current TV, partnering with the Third Millennium Foundation, is extending the submission deadline for its summer-long Seeds of Tolerance initiative to October 2, 2006.

To take part in the contest, contributors should submit short form (3-5 minute) non-fiction videos addressing issues of diversity. Submissions should be accompanied by 250-word statements on why the issue is significant. Guest judges M

. Night Shyamalan, Jeffrey Wright, Edward Norton, Paul Haggis, Melissa Etheridge and Margaret Cho along with a panel of Current and Third Millennium staff will select five semi-finalists, and then Current TV viewers will vote online for a grand prize winner and two finalists. The winner of the grand prize will receive an award of $100,000 plus a $15,000 donation to a charity of his or her choice. Finalists will earn $10,000.
