Panasonic & Plastercity Post to Host P2/Digital Film Workflow Exhibition in LA
By Myrna Tobisoo, March 13, 2007

On Thursday, March 15, Panasonic Broadcast and PlasterCITY Digital Post (PCDP) are offering professionals the chance to learn about P2 HD technology in PCDP's Digital Cinema Lab. The multi-session open house will also give professionals an inside look at the "HDI" digital intermediate workflow and its benefits for film.

The P2 HD and P2 Series Open House will provide a detailed overview of the benefits of Panasonic's P2 HD solid-state memory-based cameras including the AG-HVX200 handheld, AJ-HPX2000 and AG-HPX500 shoulder-mounts as well as P2 workflow and bridge solutions such as the AJ-HPM100 P2 Mobile and the AG-HPG10 P2 Gear viewer/player. Panasonic experts will be on hand to discuss the solid-state advantages to the digital film workflow.

PlasterCITY will also present a 30-minute discussion and demonstration of its custom HDI workflow and will explore a variety of digital workflows custom built for any film

. The demonstrations will include critical evaluation of HDI on a 27-foot screen. Whether using film, digital, or a combination of the two, PlasterCITY's custom HDI workflow - a comprehensive, uncompressed workflow that couples the cinematic qualities of 2K with the cost effectiveness and ease of HD tape - utilizes affordable and popular desktop tools for editorial and is optimal for every independent film.

WHERE/WHEN: PlasterCITY's Digital Cinema Lab is located at 6500 Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The demonstration sessions are scheduled to run at the following times: 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
