Director Tim Cash of FARfromEarth Films relies on his JVC HD100 Series camera to deliver to his audience a high-quality look without the expense of using film. Cash used his versatile JVC HD100 Series camera last year to shoot projects including music videos, short films, business promos and documentaries.
Cash shot, wrote, edited, and directed a 30-minute short film, "Skipping Stones," about a young trekker traveling to Nepal who is enlightened by a monk in a cave. His film, shot with HD100 Series camera, debuted at the Bend Film Festival. His production company, FARfromEarth Films, produced the film.
“I have a special brand of color correction I use on every shot. It gives the image more pop and creates a more film-like look. People constantly ask me what I use to shoot, and they can’t believe it’s not film,” says Cash.
He adds, “I just love the ergonomics of the JVC camera and find smaller cameras much harder to shoot with. The lens is what really sold it for me. Shooting manual is easy on the HD100 Series camera as everything you need is right on the lens."
Cash also uses his JVC camera to shoot music videos, including reggae artist Jah Sun, whose single, “Fyah Dance” was nominated for L.A. Music Hip-Hop Song of the Year. His videos are also becoming increasingly popular on the Internet, as the video for Caribbean artist Ras Attitude has been viewed nearly 20,000 times on YouTube.
He finished the year producing a pilot for a television show about earth-friendly tips called Green Team TV. The pilot was picked up by Internet TV channel Green.tv. Cash is also a featured filmmaker on www.realconnect.com.
Cash plans to take his production company FARfromEarth Films on the road this year to shoot music videos across the country. Notably, he'll be traveling in an eco-friendly bio-diesel RV and providing music videos to bands at a discounted rate. Wherever the next adventure takes him, Cash will be ready to film it with his JVC camera in tow.
