HPA Judges Award for Creativity and Innovation in Postproduction
By Staff, September 8, 2008

Our industry is in the midst of a time of intense creativity fueled by myriad options and choices in postproduction tools and workflows. New approaches, tools, workflows and ideas are surfacing that help enhance the postproduction process from a technical, creative or efficiency perspective. This honor from the HPA (Hollywood Post Alliance) seeks to recognize companies and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the application of innovation to the postproduction process or to the postproduction industry.

Don't miss the Sept. 19 deadline for entering in this new HPA Awards category.

Criteria: A unique project, workflow, proprietary technical development, hardware or software toolset, or creative approach or achievement worthy of recognition that would not be eligible for another HPA award because it might not fit into a category or meet the eligibility requirements.

Who is eligible: Companies, groups of companies and/or individuals are eligible for consideration. In the case of a corporate submission, an award would go directly to a company or group of companies that participated in an award-winning achievement. An individual who is a key and significant contributor to a corporate submission would, in addition to a company or group of companies, also be eligible for an award. In addition, an individual not associated with a company who participates in a worthy achievement would be eligible for an award.

The Award: A certificate(s) that will be presented at the HPA Awards.

Judging: A jury of industry peers will review the submissions and select the honoree(s) based on creative and innovative thinking/achievement.

Entry process: Entrants should submit 1-2 written pages explaining (1) what it is and (2) why the entrant feels it is noteworthy.

Entry Fee: None
Entry deadline: Sept. 19

To enter, please contact the HPA office at 213-614-0860.
