By Staff, November 22, 2008

Washington, DC -- Nov 21, 2008 -- Government Video Technology Expo announced the launch of their "Government Video Salute" awards program, designed to recognize the most innovative new products being unveiled on their show floor. Produced by NewBay Media LLC, the 11th annual GV Expo will run from December 2-4, 2008 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and will feature the latest cutting-edge gear for video professionals from over 150 leading companies in its exhibit hall. The show floor, FREE to attendees, will open on Wednesday, December 3 at 10:00am.
During the course of the event, the editorial team of Government Video magazine will scour the show floor to select new technologies, products and services they deem worthy of winning the "Government Video Salute."

"For a decade, exhibitors have been using GV Expo as a platform to showcase their latest products," said Government Video editor Mark J. Pescatore. "Our editorial team will award the 'Salute' to a select group of standout
products at the show, and these exhibitors will have a special honor to bring home with their purchase orders."
To be eligible for a 'Salute,' products must be new and on display at GV Expo for the first time

. Awards will be distributed during the second day of the show, and the winning products will be featured in the January 2009
issue of Government Video. The Salute focuses on products that are particularly appealing to the government video marketplace.

"Don't underestimate the government sector," said Eric Trabb, vice president of sales and publisher of the NewBay Media Video/Broadcast Group, which publishes Government Video. "It's a very valuable part of our industry. I'm
proud that our Salute award highlights great products as well as an important segment of the professional video market."

In addition to its bustling exhibit hall, GV Expo will present three days of comprehensive educational programs comprised of seminars, panels, keynotes and hands-on training sessions on the latest technologies and tools for
digital video professionals.
