VDS, a developer of broadcast automation software, content design and plug-in products, has released six new Synapse-Neuron bundles for Quantel. Synapse allows the Quantel generationQ range operator direct, interactive use of hundreds of After Effects plug-ins from within the Pablo, iQ, gQ, eQ, QPaintbox and QEffects environments.
The new Neurons include:
Red Giant Psunami is a photorealistic water simulation plug-in with features such as swell controls, air/light optics, wind, displacement mapping, depth of field control, reflection mapping and tiling.
Red Giant Radium Glow includes glow filters that provide pinpoint control, with editable shapes for generating precise outlines or creating glimmering points.
Red Giant Warp’s toolset provides control over shadows, reflections and corner-point warps. The Shadow tool renders realistic shadows for text or subjects shot on greenscreen, while the Reflection tool creates mirror-like reflections. Multi-Mode Corner Pinning allows a distorted source image to be precisely mapped to another perspective, and secondary transforms allow additional offset, scale and rotation.
Digieffects Simulate: Camera includes three plug-ins for creating effects that mimic camera or projection artifacts: Archive, Overexpose and Destabilize.
Digieffects Simulate: Illuma features practical lighting and glow effects that offer new levels of flexibility and ease of use.
Digieffects Damage is a set of visual effects plug-ins that simulate analog and digital errors and defects in footage.
"We are very pleased to be able to offer Quantel users these exciting new plug-ins from such well known companies," says Larry Mincer, president of VDS. "Our Synapse platform will continue to provide great new visual effects on Quantel as they become available. It offers Quantel operators over 900 plug-ins, ranging from the latest eye-catching visual effects to advanced image processing algorithms to solve difficult compositing problems."
