Anton/Bauer, a brand of the Vitec Group, made several announcements at NAB. Summaries and links to the news stories are below.
QR-EX3 Gold Mount for Sony PMW-EX3
The QR-EX3 Gold Mount adapter for the Sony PMW-EX3 video camera allows the EX3 to work with Anton/Bauer’s Dionic 90 or HyTron 50 batteries, extending the camera’s run times and improving balance. In addition, the QR-EX3 comes standard with an Anton/Bauer PowerTap connector, which allows the powering of an on-camera light, wireless receiver or any other 12V accessory. The Dionic 90 battery provides up to 6.5 hours of run time, while the HyTron 50 battery offers up to 3.5 hours.
QR-RH RED ONE Handle
Designed by Anton/Bauer in conjunction with camera rental company Fletcher Camera & Lenses, the QR-RH RED ONE Handle features Anton/Bauer’s signature Gold Mount, which gives the ability for multiple mounting and the ability to mount the RED Drive in various locations. It also allows the opportunity to attach various accessories, including Israeli arms, video monitors and Steadicam plates, to the camera’s handle via 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 tapped holes.
TM4 Quick Battery Charger
The TM4 is a four-position charge-module-based fast charger capable of handling the charging needs of up to four batteries simultaneously. The TM4 charges batteries up to two times faster than the Anton/Bauer TWQ charger, providing the end user with reliable battery backup power at all times.
Solar Charger
The Solar Charger battery charging system is designed to efficiently charge any battery in the Anton/Bauer product line through solar cell technology. Weighing 8 lb., the charger case connects to a 4-foot tube of solar cells capable of bringing a battery to full charge nearly as quickly as those chargers connected to AC mains.
Dionic HC Camera Battery
The Dionic HC high-current camera battery is capable of up to 10 amps. With an 85 watt-hour capacity, a built-in LCD real-time fuel gauge tracks up to nine hours of run time. Its seven-segment numerical icon display indicates hours, while the circular arcs illustrate 15-minute time intervals.
USB Battery Management Application
The USB Battery Management Application—which includes Battery Management software and a USB to Anton/Bauer battery mount adapter—streamlines battery maintenance protocols while delivering critical information to the camera operator.
DT-500 Camera Power Supply
Continuing its mission to provide reliable power supplies for the high-end video camera market, Anton/Bauer introduced the DT-500 500-watt power supply at NAB 2009. The DT-500 power supply meets the power requirements of high-end Sony F23 and F35 HD cameras.
SPS-150 150-Watt Power Supply
The SPS-150 150-watt power supply is designed to meet the high-power needs of today’s video cameras. It features a 15-volt output that provides 150W of power with a 10-amp maximum via two 4-pin XLR connectors. With a total weight of 2.85 lb., the SPS-150’s physical build consists of a compact design with a diameter of 3.36” x 4.63” x 7.59”.
