Litepanels Shows New Products at NAB 2009
April 30, 2009

Among the many products on display at the Litepanels booth at the 2009 NAB Show were the recently announced 1x1 Bi-Color, 1x1 Bi-Focus, 1x1 SuperSpot, 1x1 Low Profile and MicroPro.

MicroPro On-Camera Light
The MicroPro on-camera light fixture offers two times the light output of the Litepanels Micro. In addition to increased output, the MicroPro provides a broader source. Suggested list price for the Litepanels MicroPro is $525. The compact black Litepanels MicroPro is ideally suited for mounting on an ENG, DV or DSLR camera. It offers luminous, soft, directional lighting.

1x1 Bi-Focus All-in-One Spot and Flood LED
The 1x1 Bi-Focus is an LED light fixture capable of variable spot and flood focusing. An alternative to energy-inefficient Fresnel lights, the ultra-thin and portable 1x1 Bi-Focus offers a cool-to-the-touch, low-energy-draw solution that provides the flexibility to instantly vary the width of the light beam. The 1x1 Bi-Focus, which measures 1 ft. by 1 ft. square, features two independent sets of daylight-balanced (5,600 K) LEDs: one set of LEDs comprises flood bulbs; the other, spot bulbs. By cross-fading between the two sets of LEDs, the user can achieve variable flood or spot output.

Low-Profile Version of 1x1
The 1x1 Low Profile LED lighting fixture is designed to mount flat against a ceiling or wall. The fixtures stick down a scant 3 in. from the ceiling or wall surface where they are mounted, resulting in practically no loss of headroom or room space. Since the LED bulbs on the Low Profile are tilted at 40 degrees off axis, the light is uniquely projected forward from the fixture to softly light the subject. The units are ideal for low headroom shooting situations.

1x1 Bi-Color LED
The 1x1 Bi-Color is a professional light that contains both a 3,200 K and 5,600 K LED in a single housing. The 1x1 Bi-Color is capable of generating a color temperature of either 3,200 K or 5,600 K, or an infinite range of color temperatures in between. This allows a crew to carry one light or set of lights to cover both tungsten and daylight ambient light conditions.
