Cache-A Debuts Prime-Cache and Pro-Cache at IBC Stand 7.C29 (with Global Distribution)
September 3, 2009

Prime-Cache is specifically designed to meet the archiving needs of small post houses and small-scale field production, Cache-A’s Prime-Cache is making its debut at IBC 2009.  The easiest to use network-attached archive appliance available today, Prime-Cache enables creative professionals to create “source masters” in acquisition workflows when using the new memory card or disk-based cameras.  It also provides long-term archival storage with easy access at every stage of production.

Cache-A’s Prime-Cache solution writes data on low-cost, secure, portable, interchangeable and industry-standard LTO-4 tape cartridges using the standard TAR format. The cost per GB is approximately $0.06, and the archive life is 30 years. A single Prime-Cache solution can manage a 200TB archive with media for less than $20,000.

Operating system-independent, Prime-Cache can be deployed into Windows, MacOS and Unix environments to provide direct access to archived data from any platform with simultaneous multi-user access and volume sharing.  It plugs into a standard Ethernet network and just works, providing high capacity (800GB/LTO-4 cartridge) and high speed (greater than 50MB/s) archiving.
