It’s probably the first time Roger Corman has been asked to class up a joint.

 

In the still largely subterranean world of Web serials, Mr. Corman, the 83-year-old B-movie provocateur, rates as a major catch. He’s making his first foray into online video at the behest of Netflix, which commissioned “Splatter,” a three-part serial that started Thursday at splatter.netflix.com. The home page offers a colorful homage to a classic Corman movie poster, with the words “Roger Corman Presents” prominently featured.
