Web venue crowdsources selection of interviewees.
The Huffington Post is launching a new video series with the help
of its rabid user base.
The self-proclaimed Internet Newspaper is planning to roll out
Featured Doers, a series of video interviews with individuals who
have been identified as innovators doing "amazing things" -- such
as director James Cameron (Avatar) or U.S. Department of Energy
Secretary Steven Chu. The site’s editors are asking its user base
to choose five interview candidates from among a list of 15
nominees for Featured Doers, the first of a planned series of
HuffPo originals.
Users will be asked both to submit questions for the potential
interviewees and also vote on other readers’ questions. The five
candidates who receive the most reader-supplied questions will be
selected for interviews, which will begin appearing over the next
few weeks, said officials.
